LUCILLE DAVIS AVIN
MANNING – Lucille Davis Avin, 81, widow of Marshall L. "Roy" Avin, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington.
Born October 15, 1928, in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Ollin and Sallie Bowers Davis. She was owner and operator of The Fashion Outlet in Manning for twenty years, a member of Manning United Methodist Church, and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a son, Marshall Timothy Avin (Sue) of Manning; two daughters, Donna Avin Brandon (George) of Carthage, Tenn., and Shirley Avin Jowers (Gerald) of Columbia; two sisters, Frances Dennis of Virginia, and Dot Andrews of Sumter; a brother, Hazel Davis of Kershaw; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Manning United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Debra Quilling Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens in Manning. A nephew and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning.
