Posted Wednesday, August 9, 2023 6:00 am John Guy Ingram Jr., 83, widower of Maenell Ingram and Joy Ingram, died on Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center. Born on Dec. 20, 1939, in Manning, he was a son of the late John Guy Ingram Sr. and Mel McLeod Ingram. He was a member of Sumter First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Ingram retired from B.L. Montague Co. He was famous for baking pecan pies. He will be remembered for a lifetime of service to his family. Survivors include his children, John "Johnny" Guy Ingram III, Gene Ingram (Lisa), Harold Ingram, Jamie Rivers (Tony) and Judy Tolson (Robert); grandchildren, Brittney Johnson (Curtis), Kaitlyn Wright (Jeremiah), Ashton Brunson (Cody), Aaron Tolson, Kelsie Stewart (Dylan), Kaitlyn Rivers, Connor Rivers, Kirk Carter, Shelby Ingram, Emily Laitola (Don), Tajanй Ingram, Hunter Day, Jacob Ingram, Kinley Ingram and Mia Ingram; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty J. Harrelson; an honorary daughter, Georgia Allsbrooks; and a special nephew, Kurt Ash. He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara A. James; and daughters-in-law, Rebecca Ingram and Beth Ingram. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene, 3700 Patriot Parkway, with the Rev. Greg Pressley and the Rev. Tony Rivers officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Ingram, Curtis Johnson, Jeremiah Wright, Aaron Tolson, Dylan Stewart and Cody Brunson. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Crosswell Children's Home, 11 Crosswell Drive, Sumter, SC 29150 or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
