COKER BISHOPVILLE -- Grace Turbeville Coker, 83, of Bishopville and formerly of Turbeville, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at a health care facility after an illness. Mrs. Coker was born in Turbeville, a daughter of the late James Martin and Annie Olivia "Lamb" Evans Turbeville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Laverne Coker Sr.; a daughter, Sandra C. Godwin; sisters, Martha Kennedy, Louise Wells, Mae Ardis, Gertie Black and Sara T. Martin; brothers, Allen Turbeville, J.M. Turbeville Jr., Warren Turbeville and George Turbeville. Surviving are a daughter, Gaye Cammisa of Magnolia, Del.; sons, Roger W. Coker and his wife, Lorraine, of Florence, James Ira Coker of Coward and Edward L. Coker Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Charleston; sisters, Patsy Cox of Hebron and Kizzie Brandenburg of Eutawville; brothers, Henry Turbeville of Summerton, Bill Turbeville of Turbeville and Wright Turbeville of Manning; and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Olive Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Olive Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 183, Turbeville, SC 29162. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
