Born July 30, 1948, in Kingstree, she was a daughter of the late Chester Mathew and Annie Maria Lowder Coonce. She was a member of Home Branch Baptist Church. She loved her “TOPS” group, and she loved to sing in the choir. She is survived by three sons, David Clark Grate Jr. (Bethany) of Hilliard, Ohio, Gregory Scott Grate (Lisa) of Sumter and Timothy Allen Grate of Kentucky; two daugthers, Melissa Grate Carraway (William) of Sumter and Deborah Lynn Lewis (Ronnie) of Lynchburg; a brother, Joe Coonce (Judy) of Sumter; two sisters, Emily Ann Nicholes (Ray) of Sumter and Jenny Coonce of North Dakota; and six grandchildren, Dylan Grate, Raine Lewis, Stone Lewis, Blaire Lewis, Andrew Grate and Chelsy Grate. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Home Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Laneir Singleton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dylan Grate, Andrew Grate, Stone Lewis, Trey Hartley, Jody Coonce and Ricky Osteen. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister, 2320 Nettles Road, Sumter. Memorials may be made to Home Branch Baptist Church, 2398 Home Branch Road, Manning, SC 29102, or to Amedisys Hospice, 2555 Lin-Do Court, Sumter, SC 29150. Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory, 304 N.
