Brogdon Virginia Louise Brogdon, 93, widow of Thomas Chandler Brogdon, died Monday, April 30, 2012, at her home. Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Lucius and Jessie Galloway Hill. Mrs. Brogdon was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a retired licensed practical nurse with Tuomey Hospital. She later served as a Tuomey Hospital volunteer for a number of years. Surviving are one daughter, Sandra Minoughan of Sumter; one son, Tom Brogdon of Easley; one sister, Ida Davidson of Kosciusko, Miss.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Phil Brandt, members of the Pollyanna Club, and members of the Paul Alderman-Daisy Cuttino Sunday school class. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 219 W.
