OUTLAW Posted Sunday, December 20, 2015 6:00 am Pearline Mixon Outlaw, 95, widow of Peter R. Mixon Sr. and John E. Outlaw Sr., died Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation. Born Sept. 5, 1920, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Porter T. Boyce Sr. and the late Alma Mae Baker Boyce. She retired from Pioneer Dress Company and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, LaNelle M. Atkinson (Marvin) and Colleen M. Timmons (Gene), all of Sumter; two sons, the Rev. Peter R. "Pete" Mixon Jr. (Vickie) and Kenny Mixon all of Sumter; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a step-son, John E. Outlaw Jr. (Brenda) of Oswego; and three sisters, Helen Hodge and Mildred Burress, both of Sumter, and Margie Rogers of Joanna. She was preceded in death by two children, Velma M. Collins and Anderson B. Mixon; two step-children, Betty Stokes and Alvin Outlaw; three brothers, Charles Boyce, Dan Boyce and Porter T. Boyce Jr.; and a sister, Betty Poland. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Jim Palmer, the Rev. George Smith, the Rev. Greg Pressley, and the Rev. Pete Mixon officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Marvin and LaNelle Atkinson. Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church Missions Fund, 701 Boulevard Road, Sumter. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Linda Hankins and Mary Hankins.
