Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Louis Jennings and Edna McLeod Jennings. Mrs. Griffin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and she was a retired licensed practical nurse at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Surviving are four sons, Melvin L. Griffin of Buford, Georgia, Danny R. Griffin (Ginger) and Benny C. Griffin, all of Sumter; a sister, Annette Altman of Lake City; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Griffin; and a son, Cale L. Griffin. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Bishop Mark Judson, Whit Whitaker and the Rev. Kenny Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
