  HIST	An 82-year-old Sumter man was killed in a single-vehicle crash late Monday night on Bethel Church Road, Sumter County Coroner Verna Moore said. ¶ Frank Lewis Avins of 4155 Bethel Church Road was only a couple of miles from his home when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll over about 10:15 p.m., she said. ¶ Moore said Avins was on his way to the hospital to visit his wife when the crash occurred. ¶ According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol’s Web site, Avins was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. ¶ No other information was available and officials with the Highway Patrol did not return calls as of late Tuesday night.  [5]
