Mitchum, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Christine Arrants. Mrs. Mitchum was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Survivors include a son, Gary Wayne Mitchum (Susan) of Sumter; three grandchildren, Lisa Marshel of Las Vegas, Nev., Michael Eric Mitchum of Sumter and Wesley Pellerin of Cayce; a great-grandchild, Zachery Marshel; and a brother, Monte Callen of Lynchburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Atkinson and the Rev. Mitch Towery officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 1116 Manning Road, Sumter, SC 29150. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [2, 4, 6]
