Johannes Kolb was an immigrant from the Palatine Provinces of Germany who came to this country in 1707 and settled in Germantown, Pennyslvania. He moved to the Pee Dee area of South Carolina about 1739 and settled on what became known as Kolb’s Neck, near Cashaway Ferry, on the Pee Dee River. Source gives his birth as 19 Jul 1683.
