LOUISE OWENS
SUMMERTON – Louise Davis Stuckey Owens, 86, widow of Harvey Danner Owens, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010. She was recently a resident of NHC Healthcare of Sumter.
Born July 22, 1923, in Summerton, she was a daughter of the late Knight and May Davis Stuckey. She was a member of Summerton Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are two daughters, Dee Dee Sykes and her husband, Victor, of Manning and Tracie Walker and her husband, Joseph II, of Columbia; a brother, Eddie Stuckey of Summerton; five grandchildren, Dana McRae of Myrtle Beach, Joseph Walker III and his wife, Haley, of Columbia, Danner Owens Walker of Columbia, Missy Sykes Earley and her husband, Jimmy, of Chapin and James David Sykes of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.; and five great-grandchildren, Dinah Davis Johnson, Porter Katherine Johnson, Elizabeth Louise Liston Morris, William Wham Walker and Jake Earley.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Knight Stuckey Jr. and Preston Stuckey.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Summerton Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Ashba and the Rev. Charles C. Tyler officiating. Burial will follow in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Walker III, Danner Owens Walker, David Tindal, David Owens, Steve Helmly, Ernie Varner, Alex Stuckey, Jimmy Earley and Harvey Owens.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence of Vic and Dee Dee Sykes, 1298 Country Club Circle, Manning, and at the residence of Joe and Tracie Walker, 4835 Portobello Court, Columbia.
