| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina at death- she had 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren ZADAH DeLORME Zadah DeLorme, widow of James Pitts DeLorme, died Friday, June 4, 2010, in Summerville. She was recently a resident of the Village of Summerville Presbyterian Home. She was born June 18, 1925, in Jackson, Miss. She was the daughter of Julia Hortense Mullen and John T. Green Jr. She moved to Sumter at the age of six. She attended the Sumter public schools and graduated from Edmunds High School in 1941. She attended Winthrop College and after graduating, worked for Delta Airlines in Atlanta. For many years Zadah worked for the Department of Social Services beginning in the Food Stamps Department, then the AFDC department and finally as Adult Protective Services Supervisor until her retirement. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sumter where she was as a Sunday school teacher, served on the Pastoral Committee, was a member of the Foreign Aid Ministry. She also served the church as a Deacon and Elder and was awarded the distinction of Elder Emeritus by the Presbytery. Zadah was predeceased by her husband James Pitts DeLorme in 1980 and survived by three daughters; Beth DeLorme Marsh of Charleston, Kay DeLorme Motley and her husband Ross of Summerville and Charlotte Delorme Walker and her husband Bob of Charleston; one sister, Shirley Green Routh of Columbia; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Sumter at 1 p.m. on Monday. Interment will follow at the Sumter Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Bullock Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Sumter.
