I was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, GA in early 2013 and found the Cuttino and Peddy families in among the graves associated with my wife's line. Two in particular were David Smith Cuttino II and III. David II, per his grave stone, was born in Charleston, SC on 20 Aug 1877. I do not yet have either in my tree - yet - because I get fully distracted by other shiny objects. Do you think there could be a link to your line of David Smith Cuttino. Below is part of a doc I found in researching and recall I saw a Benjamin in your list of persons which I will go back and scrutinize. "Peter Francis Cuttino was born in Georgetown, SC. on 6-28-1840, the son of Benjamin Thomas (1797-1857) and Elizabeth Ingraham (Spooner) Cuttino (1803-1881). The name was originally spelled Cothonneau. The family was French Huguenot and emigrated from Ile lie de Ré to South Carolina in the last decade of the 17th century. Peter Francis m. in May 1864 to Ella Lawrence Adams b. 11-16-1841, d. 2-6-1919. and after service in the Confederate forces moved to Newnan in the fall of 1866 to engage in mercantile business." Here is the continuation: "The corner of the Court Square on Greenville Street opposite the old Virginia House and, later, the south corner of the same block were long known as “Cuttino’s Corner” He was one of the founders and directors of the Newnan Cotton Mill and the Newnan Banking Company and for many years served as a member of the Board of Education of the Newnan Public Schools. He died on l-20-1918, leaving his business and his home at 38 Jackson Street (now the McKoon Funeral Home) to his nephew David Smith Cuttino II, who had moved from Charleston, SC. to Newnan at the turn of the century to join his uncle’s business. David Smith Cuttino was born in Charleston, SC. on 8-20-1877, the son of David Smith 1(1842.1925) and Josephine Saluda (Swin- ton) Cuttino (1850.1906). He served the city as an alderman and later as postmaster before his death on 11-25-1948. On 7-8-1903 he married Katie May Peddy (9.3.1877 to 4-5-1972), the third daughter of Dr. and Mrs. G.W.
