Alderman Sr. LITCHFIELD BEACH -- David Charles Alderman Sr., 68, husband of Lucia Lachicotte, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Tidelands Community Hospice in Georgetown. Born June 9, 1943, in Kingstree, he was a son of the late Ben Geer and Mary Jones Alderman. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina; a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Vietnam War era; a real estate agent; an entrepreneur; and he was of the Protestant faith. He is survived by his wife of Litchfield Beach; two sons, David Charles Alderman Jr. (Gloria) of Surfside Beach and Jefferson Breeden Alderman of Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Christy Alderman Norton (John) of Sumter and Caroline Joy Alderman of Centreville, Va.; two brothers, Dr. Robert Lewis Alderman (Amelia) of Roanoke, Va., and Dr. James Francis Alderman (Sharon) of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Mary Geer Clark (Ernest) of Roanoke; and four grandchildren, Emily Catherine Alderman, Patrick Michael Butler, David Charles Alderman III and Sydney Amber Alderman. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Clarendon Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Robert Lewis Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in Manning Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. Thursday until the time of service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice of Georgetown, 2591 N.
