| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina CHRISTOPHER A. MCKENZIE Posted Tuesday, May 1, 2018 6:00 am Christopher Allen "Pete" McKenzie, 53, died on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at his home. Born on Feb. 8, 1965, in Sumter, he was a son of the late McKiever and Clara Flowers McKenzie. He was a member of New Testament Lighthouse Church and retired from Vestco Properties. Survivors include five sisters, Jeanette McLeod (Jeffery), Alice Faye McFarland, Meadell Richburg, Diane Allen and Effie Tedder, all of Sumter; brothers, Royce McKenzie and McIver McKenzie (Debra), both of Sumter; sisters-in-law, Jenifer McKenzie and Betty McKenzie, both of Sumter; special nephews, Brandon McLeod and Kyle McLeod; special friends, Robert Parish and Ricky Parish; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy McKenzie and Niel McKenzie; a sister, Mary Frances Bell; and a special niece, Amy McKenzie. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kenny Griffin officiating. Burial will be at Pinewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Jeanette and Jeffery McLeod, 2210 Walter Conyers Lane, Sumter. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home, 515 Miller Road, Sumter, SC 29150. The family would like to thank Jesse McLeod for his kindness and friendship to Pete.
