| HIST | Date Published: October 16, 2008 NANCY HATFIELD Nancy Hatfield, 57, wife of J.B. Hatfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Hartsville, she was a daughter of the late Hubert Miller and the late Doris Bateman Miller. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Hatfield worked at Pioneer Manufacturing as a seamstress. She was a South Carolina licensed cosmetologist and barber, a past member of the National Cosmetology Association, was currently serving on the nominating committee of the Association of Cosmetology Salon Professionals, and past president, vice president, and secretary/treasurer of Sumter Affiliate No. 8. She was currently employed by the Cutting Crew and volunteered with the American Cancer Society: Look Good…Feel Better Program for over 15 years. Mrs. Hatfield enjoyed arts, crafts, cake decorating, and her cats and dogs. She was a devoted grandmother who dearly loved her grandsons. Survivors include her husband of Sumter; a son, Hank Rembert (Tiffany) of Sumter; two grandchildren, Dubose Rembert and Brentston Rembert of Sumter; a brother, Claude Miller of Simpsonville; two step-daughters, Janet Stiles (Jerry) of Sumter and Dana Huggins (Jimmy) of Wedgefield; and three step-grandchildren, Colby Huggins, Jerry Stiles, and Jeremy Stiles. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Atkinson and the Rev. Billy Roe officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, 810 S. Wise Drive, and also at 112 E. Newberry St. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. N., Suite 101, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577; First Church of God, 1835 Camden Road, Sumter SC 29153; or to Southside Baptist Church, 1116 Manning Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
