| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina VINCENT P. WARD Posted Tuesday, January 23, 2018 6:00 am Vincent Paul "Vince" Ward, 60, died on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at his home. Born on Nov. 5, 1957, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Thad Anderson Ward Jr. and Lucille Madray Ward. He was formerly a co-owner of Wards Barbecue. Survivors include two daughters, Chrystal Mims (Troy) and Erin Ward, both of Sumter; four grandchildren, Hayden, Lucy Hayes, Mason and Ashton; three brothers, Charles "Bubba" Ward (Jeannie) and Mickey Ward (Anna), all of Sumter, and Buddy Ward (Renee) of Spartanburg; and a special aunt, Dianne Condrey (Jimmy) of Sumter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Shorter, Mark Amerson, Chris Crawford, Dalton Ward, Easton Ward and Chase Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Dollard, Brian Crawford, Tripp Ward, Cody Ward, Dylan Ward Nicholas Condrey, Bubba Callahan and Justin Ward. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
