Upon retirement, he was given Professor Emeritus status, and placed in the Greensboro College Athletic Hall of Fame. He was past president of the Methodist Men and president of the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was a faithful deliverer of Mobile Meals. He was a charter member of the Little River Lions Club and served twice as president. He was twice president of the LIttle River Chamber of Commerce, Vice Chairman of the Vereen Garden’s Board of Directors, and a founder and board member of 1st Atlantic Bank. He was on the Little River Medical Center Board, Crime Stoppers, and Horry County Accommodations Tax Board. [1] |
