Walker Jr. SUMMERTON -- Claude Townes Walker Jr., 84, widower of McCall "Mac" Pinner Walker, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Hospice of Charleston, Mt. Pleasant. Born Oct. 17, 1927, in Hendersonville, N.C., he was a son of the late Claude Townes Sr. and Norma Wilkins Walker. He was co-owner and operator of Clarendon Gas Co.; a former volunteer fireman and chief of Summerton Fire Department; a worshipful master of Summerton Masonic Lodge; Boy Scout Leader; former board member of Clarendon Memorial Hospital; past president of the S.C. Propane Gas Association; and a member emeritus of the Summerton Lion's Club. Surviving are four children, Norma Elizabeth "Libby" Walker of Charlotte, N.C., Claude "Townes" Walker III and wife, Vicki, of Columbia, Sally McCall Walker of Johns Island and Jane Walker Bunch and husband, Bobby, of Pensacola Beach, FL; a sister-in-law, Norvelle Plowden Walker of Summerton and Dell Pinner of Hartsville; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Pinner Walker; two sisters, Elizabeth W. Garber and Margaret W. Everett; and a brother, Thomas I. Walker. The family would like to express a special thanks to caregiver, Maggie Montgomery. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Summerton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the residence, 7711 Wash Davis Road, Summerton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summerton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 35, Summerton, SC 29148. Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory, 304 N.
