| HIST | at death- he had 7 grandchildren JOHN D. DAUGHRITY John Drafus "Weshot" Daughrity, 62, husband of Mary Scott Daughrity, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Bishopville Manor. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Sidney M. Daughrity and Louise Mundy Daughrity. Mr. Daughrity attended Faith Baptist Church and was a retired plumber. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; three sons, John D. Daughrity Jr. and Sidney Scott Daughrity, both of Sumter, and John Benenhaley of Columbia; six daughters, Susie McDonald, Christy Benenhaley, and Shawna McCoy of Sumter, and Cindy Oakley, Stacey Vaughan, and Robin Talley of Roxboro, N.C.; two brothers, Sidney M. Daughrity and James Daughrity, both of Sumter; five sisters, Mary Pinchback of Columbia, Lucy Williams (Rudolph), Lynn Otto (Bill), and Paula Davis of Sumter, and Joyce Froton (John) of Camden; seven grandchildren; and numerous special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lindy Copeland and Louise White. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Pastor Victor VanRas officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Crosswell Children's Home, 11 Crosswell Drive, Sumter, S.C. 29150.
