| HIST | of Lynchburg, South Carolina Eleanor T. Wise LYNCHBURG — Eleanor Tallon Wise, 90, widow of Swinton V. Wise, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at her home. Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Bunyon M. Sr. and Ida Newman Tallon. Mrs. Wise was a member of Lynchburg Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, James E. Howe Jr. of Astor, Fla.; two daughters, Judith H. Brown of Lynchburg and Elizabeth Ann Baer of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Maxie Howe; six brothers; and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lynchburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Timothy Coker, the Rev. Lonnie Watford and Dr. William H. “Rusty” Wilson III officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
