| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina CLARA H. WATERS Clara Hudnall Waters, 90, widow of William F. Waters Jr., departed her earthly life on Friday, April 9, 2010, at a local nursing center. Born on Feb. 7, 1920, in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late Michael Benjamin Hudnall and Annie Elizabeth White Hudnall. Mrs. Waters was a longtime member of Bible Fellowship Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, an AWANA leader and was a member of the Howell Bible Class. She was retired from Williams Furniture Company where she was an office secretary. Surviving are one son, William F. (Billy) Waters III and wife, Kathy; two daughters, Judy Griffin and Peggy McElveen and husband, Jenkins, all of Sumter; four grandchildren, Kimberly Thornton and husband, Jonathan, Roy D. (Dusty) Jones, Jennifer Lynn Miller and husband, Jason, and Tim Waters; three great-grandchildren, Emily Thornton, Chase Thornton and Brady Miller. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Partin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Peggy McElveen, 1034 Kentwood Drive.
