Born in Charlotte, N.C., he was a son of the late James Preston and Margaret Elizabeth Granberry Richardson. Mr. Richardson was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a retired professor of history at St. Leo University/Shaw Air Force Base branch. He served as a medic in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two daughters, Anna Katherine Chassereau and husband, Jarret, of Lexington and Sarah Michelle Scarbary and husband, Billy, of Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother, the Rev. Dr. James B. Richardson and wife, Carol, of Shelby, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Eavan McKenna Scarbary and Colin Reid Chassereau. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Mark Durrett, the Rev. Dr. James B. Richardson and the Rev. Dr. Wayne G. Boulton officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the home, 26 Harby Ave. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or the Melanoma Research Foundation, P.O.
