| HIST | of Ashwood, South Carolina JAMES AUBREY HAWKINS Posted Tuesday, March 5, 2024 3:53 pm It is with deep sorrow that Mrs. Grace Logan Hawkins and her family announce the death of her beloved husband, Mr. James Aubrey Hawkins, 95, of Ashwood. Mr. Hawkins entered into rest on Friday, March 1, 2024. The directors of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home are caring for the family. A funeral service to honor his life was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, in The Chapel of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home. Leslie Pulley and George Lee will officiate, with burial to follow in Piedmont Cemetery. The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Piedmont Cemetery or Agape Hospice. Mr. Hawkins was born on Feb. 10, 1929, in Pisgah. He was the son of the late Samuel Wilson Hawkins and Maggie Lou "Lula" Baker Hawkins. He was a lifelong farmer. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Grace Logan Hawkins; daughter, Debra (Kenny) Mims, and son, Sammy Hawkins, both of Ashwood; five grandchildren, Michael, Serena, Kayla, Katie and Wilson; six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Harmony, Abigayle, Gianna, Lee and Liam; and brother, Tommy (Martha) Hawkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul Hawkins; brother, Wilbur Hawkins; and sister, Anna Jackson. [2, 6, 7, 8] | |
