WILLIAM L. CURRIE Jr.
William L. Currie Jr., 85, widower of Elisabeth R. Currie, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late William L. Sr. and Vera B. Currie. Mr. Currie was a member of First Baptist Church. He was owner and operator of Rose Myrtle Dairies for 45 years.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth L. Currie, DVM (Carmen) of Bishopville, William Stephen Currie of Lexington and Martin Clarke Currie of Tifton, Ga.; four grandchildren, Ramsey Currie, Jessica Currie, Lacy Currie and Nicholas Currie; a great-grandchild, Adam Currie; and a sister, Dorothy Allen Kolb of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Currie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Clanton officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
