  HIST	of Summerton, South Carolina Ida Estelle Ardis SUMMERTON — Ida Estelle Sweatman Ardis, 87, widow of Oregon Texas “O.T.” Ardis Jr., died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at her home. Born Oct. 12, 1926, in Holly Hill, she was a daughter of the late William Irvin and Maggie Irene Jackson Sweatman. She was a member of Summerton United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Arlene Robinson (Darrell) of Columbia and Linda Mae Elliott (Roddy) of Manning; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, O.T. “Texas” Ardis III; and a grandson, Bill Elliott. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Summerton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Miles Elliott, Teige Elliott, Ralph Ardis, Steve Hall, Brian Snider, Howard Bryce and Bobby Fleming. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of her daughter, Linda and Roddy Elliott, 6378 Summerton Highway, Manning.
