| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina JEWANETA ELIZABETH NEELEY DYSON Posted Wednesday, November 22, 2023 6:00 am Jewaneta Elizabeth Neeley Dyson, 84, widow of James Earle Dyson, died on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at the home of her son in Manning. Born on Oct. 20, 1939, in Winnsboro, she was a daughter of the late William Frederick Neeley and Dorothy Virginia Parker Blackmon. Mrs. Dyson was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She retired from Campbell's Soup Co. Survivors include two sons, John Gregory Dyson of Sumter and Jeffrey Dyson (Caroline) of Manning; a stepson, James E. Dyson Jr. (Karen) of Advance, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Aaron Dyson (Norma) and Natalie Dyson; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Dyson; and a sister, Carol Neeley of Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Brian Magaw. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to Temple Baptist Church, 120 Pinewood Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
