| HIST | of Summerville, South Carolina WILLIAM ROBERT HAITHCOCK Posted Tuesday, February 22, 2022 6:00 am SUMMERVILLE - William Robert "Bobby" Haithcock, 82, died on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at Summerville Community Hospice House. Born on April 14, 1939, in Asheboro, North Carolina, he was a son of the late John Robert and Mamie Claire Faulling Haithcock. He was a graduate of Sumter High School. He was an avid Gamecock fan and enjoyed watching them play all sports. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, crossword puzzles, shooting guns and spoiling his grandchildren. He built bridges and retired as a superintendent for Republic Contracting Corp. in Columbia. Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Reynolds (Farron); a sister, Janie Moses; a brother, James Haithcock (Eileen); grandson, Robert "Bobby" Reynolds (Louise); granddaughter, Kassidy Anne Reynolds; adopted grandkids that he "called his own," B.K. Nowak, Asher Alves and Alexis Ruff; nieces, Donna Velez and Jessica McCoy; special friends, Tami Naylor, Lauren Jean Alves and Estelle Tanner; and other family members that he was blessed with. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert "Robby" Haithcock; and a brother, J.L. Haithcock. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of his brother, James Haithcock, 360 Mims Road, Sumter, SC 29153.
