ROBINSON SUMMERTON - Alvilder Singletary "Biddie" Robinson, 88, widow of Harold Richard Robinson, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning. Born Oct. 11, 1921, in the Sandy Ridge community of Berkeley County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Flora Lee Myers Singletary. She was a member of Summerton United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Helen Bass of Summerton; a son, Harold M. Robinson and wife, Edna, of Summerton; a brother, Everett Singletary and wife, Christine, of Hollywood; two sisters, Hazel S. Rast and husband, Milton, and Valerie Gleason, all of Charleston; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Wayne Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Revs. Bob Allen and Randy Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Smithwick, Ron Dodson, Ron Cox, Lee Robinson, Freddie Mitchum and Chris Mitchum. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning. Memorials may be made to Summerton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 35, Summerton, SC 29148.
