Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Jeoffrey Thames and Ruby Boseman Thames McLeod. Mr. Thames attended Wedgefield Baptist Church. He worked for Campbell's Soup Co. for more than 20 years and Shorter's Used Cars. Survivors include three children, Michelle Lee (Daniel), Jeremy Thames (Allison) and Nicholas Thames, all of Sumter; five grandchildren, Caitlin Lee, Lauryn Lee, Cody Lee, Anna Chandler and Will Chandler; and three sisters, Betsy Hair (Clarence) and Olene Rodrigues (Ray), both of Sumter, and Debra Fraizer of Brimington, Wash. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
