| HIST | Harriet was at home with her parents on the 1850 Census. She was married twice. She married first her double cousin William Warren Weeks, son of Chosel and Tabitha Weeks. William Warren Weeks died, leaving widow Harriet and minor son William Chosel Weeks (Sumter, Roll 194). on June 6, 1855, Dempsey Griffin testified that he was the grandfather of the infant William Chozel Weeks (Report Book C-2, p. 74). Harriet E. Weeks has remarried Samuel W. Harvin (Sumter, Roll 1760). On the 1860 Clarendon Census, S. W. Harvin and Harriet were enumerated at #62. They stated that they had been married within a year. With them was their baby daughter and her (Harriet) son William Weeks. Samuel was a cousin to both Harriet and her first husband. As son of John and Rebecca Harvin, ("The Harvin Family of Clarendon County, South Carolina", undated manuscript by James M. Nelson), his grandmother Frances Ragan Harvin was a sister to Harriet's grandmother Jemima Ragan Griffin. | |
