He was killed instantly. - cualumni.clemson.edu • Originally buried at Henri Chappelle Cemetery in Belgium.   MILI	Captain, U.S. Army Command, Co. L. 335th Inf., 84th Div. He entered military service on June 19, 1942 and was sent to Fort Benning, Georgia. By September 23, he was appointed the position of 2nd Lieutenant, Infantry service and assigned service number 0495600. He was stationed at Fort McClellan, Alabama, where he served as an instructor for about 20 months. On May 3, 1943, he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant, Army. In December 1943, he was promoted to Captain. He was moved to Camp Claiborn, Louisiana, to train for service overseas. From Louisiana, his troop traveled by train to Kilmer, New Jersey, where they would soon leave the United States, some of them never to return. He was buried on 25 Dec 1944 in Belgium in a military cemetery, in Plot 00, Row 3, Grave 50 at Henri Chapelle Cemetery #1, H.C. Belgium, 18 miles from Liege, Belgium. Then he was buried on 11 Nov 1947 at Bethel United Methodist Church, Oswego, Sumter County, South Carolina. Then before Mr. and Mrs. Olin Good Dorn, Sr. died, they purchased a cemetery plot in the Sumter Cemetery on Oakland Avenue in Sumter. This plot consists of three grave sites. Olin, Jr.’s remains were moved again and were laid to rest between his parents.
