Reynolds, 61, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center after an illness. He was born in Montgomery, Ala., on June 25, 1946, to the late Colie Reynolds and Lillie Bell Edwards Reynolds. He accepted Christ at an early age and became family with First Baptist Missionary Church of Sumter. Mr. Reynolds attended the public schools of Sumter and furthered his education at S.C. State University in Orangeburg. He was employed by the Sumter County Recreation and Parks Department as the first director of the South Sumter Gym. He was an educator in District 17 for 30 years until his retirement. He coached football, basketball and track for District 17 and the Sumter County Recreation and Parks Department. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Rhonda Hastie Reynolds; a daughter, Daphne Reynolds; and a son, Larry Patric (Wanda) Reynolds, all of Sumter; a grandson, Daylen Patrick Reynolds; four stepchildren, Capt. Richard C. (Michelle) McConico of Fayetteville, N.C., Willie (Melissa) McConico of St. Louis, Mo., Glenda Hastie and Rebecca (James) Houser, both of Sumter; five stepchildren; three brothers, Calvin Reynolds and Bruce Edward (MIchelle) Reynolds all of Bronx, N.Y., and Bennie (Virginia) Reynolds of Sumter; a sister, Annie Bolton of Columbia; a special family member, Dorothy Canty of Bronx; four sisters-in-law, Lula (Ferdinand) Burns, Ella M. McBride and Janice Hastie, all of Sumter, and Geneva (James) Zeigler of Paxville; one brother-in-law, Roger (Andrea) Hastie of Seattle, Wash.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Missionary Church with the Rev. Dr. Ralph W. Canty, eulogist, assisted by the Revs. Willie A. Wright and Robert E. Galloway. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. Floral bearers will be the Lincoln High School Class of 1964 and Vera Wilson, Jackie Wright, Gloria Gallishaw, Sharon Brown and Juanita Joyner. Pallbearers will the Lincoln High School Class of 1964 and Coley White, Larry Wilson, Granderson James, William James, Carl Baker and Richard Turner. The family is receiving friends at the home, 935 Bailey St., where the procession will leave at 3:20 p.m. Monday.
