Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday November 21, 2011 at Jericho United Methodist Church, Rev. Roger Goupil officiating, with burial following in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Barrus, Jay King, David Bridges, Bill Summers, David Summers, and John O. Wesner, III. Honorary pallbearers will be the Jericho UMC Men's Bible Class. Family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 â€' 7 PM at Jericho United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Friends may call at other times at 754 Jericho Road, Cameron, SC. Dr. Springs was born in Columbia to the late John Morgan Springs and Willie Mae Bardin. Dr. Springs attended Clemson University and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from UGA in 1958. He was a member of Jericho United Methodist Church, Jericho UMC Men's Bible Class, Past President of the Cameron Businessmen's Club. He was a retired Colonel with the US Air Force, serving from 1958 to 1986. Survivors include his wife, Connie, of the home; a son, Dr. Clark L. Springs and wife Julie of Indianapolis, Indiana; a daughter, Dr. Carol S. King and husband James of Campobello; grandchildren, Isaac King and Kendra, Cooper, Spencer, and Sullivan Springs. Memorials may be made to the Jericho UMC Cemetery Fund, c/o Rosa Mae Troutman, 755 Pickett Level Road, Elloree, SC 29047 or the American Cancer Society , 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
