Born in Cumberland County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Earl Eason and Lillie Ruth Wade Eason. Mrs. Scott was a member of the Salvation Army Church and a volunteer at Tuomey Hospital. Surviving are her husband of Sumter; two daughters, Cynthia McDuffie and Melissa S. Burgess (Jeremy), both of Sumter; and three grandchildren, Austin McDuffie, Cameron McDuffie and Natalie Burgess. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Minor; and a sister, Alleene Cruz. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Salvation Army Church with Major Geri Dancer officiating. Burial will be in the Pinewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Salvation Army Church, 16 Kendrick St., Sumter, SC 29150.
