| HIST | MARGARET K. FOWLER MANNING - Margaret Kelly Fowler, 85, of Sumter, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born March 20, 1926, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Sarah Emma Griffin and John Pinckney Kelly. Mrs. Fowler was retired from Central Carolina Technical College and was a member of Church of the Holy Comforter. She is survived by one son, Harry (Wes) Wescott Fowler Jr. (Melinda) of Florence; one granddaughter, Ashley Fowler Hodge (Blake) of Varnville; one step-grandson, Daniel Justin Layfield (Catherine) of New York; and one great-grandchild, Larry (Trace) Blake Hodge III. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Harry Wescott Fowler Sr., who died in 1985; and two sisters, Sarah Emma Kelly Jenkins and Olga Marie Kelly. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Holy Comforter with the Rev. Dr. John Barr officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to York Place, The Episcopal Church Home for Children, 234 Kings Mountain St., York, SC 29745-1131.
