Hendrix COLUMBIA —Walker Lee Hendrix, 69, beloved husband of Antonia “Toni” Sanchez Hendrix for 50 years, died on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia. He was born in Bennettsville, a son of Edith Hendrix and the late Leroy Hendrix. He was preceded in death by extended family members, the late Henry Theodore and Geneva Ozella Dixon of Blythewood. Surviving in addition to his wife are: a son, Joe Hendrix and his wife, Brenda, of Sumter; three daughters, Lisa Brannon and her husband, Douglas, of Tellico Plains, Tenn., Pam Campbell and her husband, Johnny, of Sumter and Christy Hendrix of Sumter; one brother; four sisters; eight grandchildren, Corey Hendrix, Mariah Hendrix, Brittany Winn, Matthew Brannon, Caroline Campbell, Brandon Ardis, Taylor Ardis and John-Lee Campbell; and a great-grandchild, Talan Ardis. He served in the U.S. Army and later worked as a market manager. He loved to work in the garden and had such a big heart that he would do anything for anyone. He will always be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home.
