The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Beaty, and the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Robert Beaty and the late Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Newton, all of Sumter. He graduated from Sumter High School. He is employed as a certified welder by Pipe and Fabrication Inc., Camden. The Rev. Dr. Mark Durrett officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided by Mrs. Hamilton Stoddard, organist; and Mrs. Ginger Moore, vocalist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an A-line side drape, strapless gown featuring beaded lace detail on the bodice and skirt, a slimming lace-up back, and a split back skirt ending in a chapel train. She carried an arrangement of lilac hydrangea and ranunculus. Ashlyn Marie Curtis served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Elizabeth Beaty, sister of the bridegroom, and Talisa Anne Turner.
