RODGERS Posted Wednesday, September 13, 2017 6:00 am A funeral service to celebrate the life of Geraldine "Jerri" Jones Rodgers, 78, of Elgin will be held at noon on Thursday at Spring Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Winburn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to The Gideons International, Columbia East Camp, P.O. Box 23223, Columbia, SC 29224. Jerri passed away on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Life Care Center of Columbia. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Dalton and Bertha Thigpen Jones. Jerri was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church and was an auxiliary member of The Gideons International. Jerri is survived by her husband, Jim Rodgers; daughter, Becky (David) Rogers; grandchildren, Andrew (Jamie) Rogers and Joshua (Chantelle) Rogers; great-grandchildren, Levi and Parker Rogers; and sister, Thelma Costner.
