Hicks, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Sumter Health and Rehab. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late John Pressley Turner and Sarah Lundy Turner. She was a member of Smithville Evangelical Baptist Church and retired from Korn Industries. Survivors include two daughters, Mae Donlon and Emma Lafond Dennis. both of Sumter; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Hicks; a daughter, Mary D. “Lois” Bradley; a sister, Lillian Morris; and a grandson, Robert Bill Dennis. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Morris and the Rev. Freddie Gaymon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Mae Donlon. Memorials may be made to Smithville Evangelical Baptist Church, c/o Jimmy Baker, 225 Pinecrest Drive, Sumter, SC 29154. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Sumter Health and Rehab for their excellent care.
