Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road in Lexington. The family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 PM Monday, August 11, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Surviving is her husband of 21 years, J.W. Irick, Jr. of Cayce; sons, Ronnie T. Welch, Jr. (Traci) of Cayce and John Allan Welch, Sr. (Cyndi) of Greensboro, N.C.; daughter, Liz Jones of Sumter; ten grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Coker and Carolyn Larsen both of Sumter; and brothers, George Alvin "Al" Truesdale of Tennessee and Cecil Truesdale of Sumter. She was predeceased by husband Ronnie T. Welch, Sr., grandson, Ronnie "Tripp" Welch, III, her sister, Margaret Rader and brother, Louis H. Truesdale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in Helen's honor (donate.cancer.org).
