| HIST | HELEN HOLLAND PRESCOTT Posted Saturday, December 12, 2020 6:00 am Helen Holland Prescott, 75, widow of James A. "Sonny" Prescott Jr., died on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at her home. Born on Dec. 18, 1944, in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late Lester Holland and Lila Deas Hodge. She was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church, where she served in numerous rolls. She was a member of the Sumter County Family and Community Leaders. She was formerly employed by Sumter School District 17 and worked at Lemira and Crosswell Elementary Schools. Survivors include two children, Monty C. Prescott and Wanda P. Baker (Tripp), both of Sumter; a granddaughter, Victoria Skinner Bibb (Tyler) of Seneca; a great-grandchild, Bowen Bibb; a brother, Ronnie Holland of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and a sister, Tyler Hodge of Summerville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Wiggins. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Ketchum officiating. Pallbearers will be Jamie Alsbrooks, Billy Deas, Larry Deas, Mike Deas, Dale Jones, Dean Jones, Gary Jones and Daniel Turner. The family will receive friends at the home. Memorials may be made to Concord Presbyterian Church, 3350 E. Brewington Road, Sumter, SC 29153. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
