"Pete" Frey, 49, husband of Elizabeth "Renee" Brown Frey, died on Sunday, May 10, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born on Nov. 21, 1970, in Mannheim, Germany, he was a son of the late John H. and Edeltraud "Trudy" Ardis. He was employed by Geddings Electrical and Mechanical. Survivors include his wife, Renee Frey; stepchildren, Jeffery Brettelle, Landon Brettelle and Cheyenne Brettelle; two brothers, John H. Ardis II (Missy) and Armin "Roland" Frey (Belinda); two nieces, Alyssa Ardis and Samantha Frey; three nephews, Adam Frey, Michael Brown and Joshua Mims; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Susan and Wesley Harrison; uncles, Joe Ardis (Brenda) and Don Ardis; aunts, Linda Ardis and Shirley Nesbitt; special friends, Sami Agnew, Chris Geddings and Karson Dobbs; and his cat, Buttercup. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sumter Cemetery with Wayne McElveen officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Bucky Card, Chris Geddings, Rian Hasselden, Jay Hodge, Gregg Lee, Marion Nesbitt, Phil Scott and J.D. Scaffe. A public viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 4040 Golden Bay Drive. Memorials may be made to the SPCA, 1140 S.
