Andrews HARTSVILLE - Funeral services for Charles Edward Andrews, Sr., 85, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Savannah Advent Christian Church. The Rev. John Gallagher will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home and other times at the home of Heyward Andrews, 2285 Kelleytown Rd., Hartsville, SC. Memorials may be made to Savannah Advent Christian Church, 1948 Ashland-Stokes Bridge Rd., Bishopville, SC 29010. Mr. Andrews died Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Born in Darlington Co., SC, he was a son of the late Heyward M. Andrews, Sr. and the late Zulene Smith Andrews. He graduated from Hartsville High School and attended the University of South Carolina and Coker College. He was a farmer, co-owner of Andrews Auto Sales and retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. Mr. Andrews was an avid Gamecock fan and especially enjoyed attending USC football games. He was a lifelong member of Savannah Advent Christian Church. Surviving are his son, Charles E. (Kay) Andrews, Jr. of Florence, SC, daughter Karen (Mark) Greene of Apex, NC; brother, Heyward M. Andrews, Jr. of Hartsville, SC; sisters, Patsy (Charles) Yearty and Alice Gainey of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Matthew Andrews, Claire Andrews, Alexa Greene, Andrew Greene; special in-laws Jean (Toby) Reynolds; dear friends, Billy Parker and Belvia Wint.
