Austin Edwin Floyd, 78, has been charged with 1st-degree burglary and voyeurism. On March 6, deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 1900 block of Clubhouse Road. A woman staying in the residence told officials she had discovered a fake smoke detector in her home. She said she believed the smoke detector contained a camera. An investigation revealed that the smoke detector housed a digital camera that was storing images onto an SD card. It was later discovered that the person responsible for installing the fake smoke detector was Austin Floyd, the woman’s neighbor. Floyd was taken into custody on March 8.
