If not, where does Freeman come from? jkh LOIS SMITH FREEMAN Posted Tuesday, May 10, 2022 6:00 am Lois Smith Freeman, 76, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Born on Nov. 19, 1945, in Hartsville, she was a daughter of the late Elias and Pearline Hinson Smith. She attended Green Acres Assembly of God and retired from J&M Dyers. She loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was affectionately known as "Motorcycle Mama." Survivors include four children, Tammie Marie Simmons (Dwayne McCoy), Robert L. Bartlette (Kimberly Stokes), Sherrie Langley Byrd (Arthur "Marty" Byrd) and Steven Allen Bartlette (Denise Roberts Bartlette); 17 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Berry; and siblings, Elias "Gino" Smith, Mary Simmons, James Smith and T.L. Smith. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ralph Oxendine officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Tammie, 1425 Trappers Run, Wedgefield.
