Crosby, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Born Nov. 20, 1948, in Hampton, he was a son of the late James Henry Crosby Sr. Marie Sumner Crosby. Mr. Crosby served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Scott Will Toyota where he was a master auto body technician. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, playing golf or just cutting his grass. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four children, Jamie Plemons (Dawn), Deidre Michele Osborne and Amanda Psculkowski, all of Sumter, and Katie Hadden (Brad) of Wichita Falls, Texas; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Wilton Crosby (Brenda) of Sumter; three sisters, Darlene Ross (David) of Sumter, Louise Rich (Earl) of Statesboro, Georgia, and Debra C. Browder (Randy) of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Lee Crosby; and a brother, Eric Crosby. A memorial gathering will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home, with rendering of military honors at 5 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday following the service at 1409 Crowndale Drive. Memorials may be sent to The Salvation Army, 16 Kendrick St., Sumter, SC 29150, or Department of Veterans Affairs, Columbia Regional Office, 6437 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC 29209.
