| HIST | RICHARD WILDER BRADFORD Posted Friday, August 4, 2023 6:00 am Richard Wilder Bradford, 96, husband of Mattie Walker Bradford for 73 years, died on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Winfield Wilder Bradford and Margaret "Maggie" Gardner Bradford. Mr. Bradford was a graduate of Edmunds High School and attended Newberry College and Clevenger Business College. He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. He retired from Rowland Brothers Moving & Storage Co. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; his children, Sandra L. Bradford of Sumter, Richard Wilder Bradford Jr. of Rockport, Texas, and Melinda Reid Bradford of Flagstaff, Arizona. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. John McLeod and the Rev. Larry Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Memorials may be made to St. John's Church, 136 Poinsett Drive, Sumter, SC 29150 or to Lane United Methodist Church, P.O.
