| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina Date Published: May 22, 2008 CAROLYN B. DAVIS Carolyn Britton Davis, 80, wife of Edward "E.W." Warren Davis Sr., died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at a local nursing facility. Born on April 10, 1928, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Leonard "L.K." Britton and the late Evelyn McCoy Britton. Mrs. Davis was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She was retired from Santee Print Works. Surviving are her husband; a son, Edward Warren Davis Jr. and wife, Karen, of Little Mountain; a daughter, Elaine D. Miller and husband, Rusty, of Sumter; two brothers, Robert K. Britton and J.W. Britton and wife, Suzette, all of Sumter; four grandchildren, Kerri, Amy, Kristin and Haley; and two great-grandchildren, Britton and Savannah. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Know Britton Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Revs. Mike Morris, Jerry Watson and Bob Partin officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 1064 Briar Bend St. Memorials may be made to Zoar United Methodist Church, c/o Jewel B.
