Posted Thursday, October 20, 2016 6:00 am ELLOREE - Charles Edwin Haley Sr., 78, formerly of Manning, husband of Cecile Morris Haley, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at his home. Born July 8, 1938, in Manning, he was a son of the late Henry William "Mosser" Haley and the late Mary Alma Barfield "MeMe" Haley. Mr. Haley was a lifetime restaurant owner and truck driver. He owned Haley's BBQ and the Manning Restaurant in Manning and the Ole Depot Restaurant in Elloree. He was a retired truck driver with Food Lion and he was the co-owner of C&H Tax Service in Elloree. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Elloree. He is survived by his wife of Elloree; a daughter, Angie Wilkes (B.G.) of Manning; five grandchildren, Charles Wilkes (Bobbi) of Wyoming, Beau Wilkes (Ashley) of Concord, North Carolina, Shawn Dantzler (Sylvia) of Elloree, Cissy Hutcherson (Ben) of Sumter and Cassie McCormack (Cody) of Elloree; three great-grandchildren, Gabbi Wilkes, Keller Dantzler and Cole McCormack; two sisters, Frances Morris and Gloria Jean Lowder, both of Manning; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Sadie, Mixie and Sparky. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Dantzler; and a son, C.E. Haley Jr. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Hutcherson, Mack Irick Sr., Robert Dantzler, Billy Lowder, Bryan Morris and Chris Carver. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Platt and Hank Ridgeway. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home and at other times at the residence, 610 Hampton St., Elloree.
